Washing Line - Density Separation Tank
At the preflotation tank the flakes are mixed with water. A special pump transports the prewashed flakes into the downstream separation tank. This patented arrangement allows to inject the flakes into the separation tank below the water level. As a result of this setting, a much higher selectivity and cleaness is reached.
By injection the material below the water level into the separation tank, the water surface tension is eliminated. As a result a much higher separation selectivity is reached. By density separation the swimming fraction (f.e. PE base caps) is separated from the sinking fraction.
A discharge screw, which is integrated at the bottom of the separation tank, transports the sink fraction = PET into the downstream equipment. Back flushing pipes carry floating particles back into the preflotation tank for a second cleaning process.
